FLL Competition Results
Hello All!
Well, the FIRST Lego League Robotics state competition was today. And the results? An astounding victory for both More Mayhem and Mindstorms Mayhem. I will start with More Mayhem. More Mayhem had a very good day overall. Due to their very reliable missions, they were able to climb the ladder at the competition and finally end up in 1st place for the table competition. They also won 2nd place Research award for their gameshow presentation and great research. Mindstorms Mayhem Also did very well. They placed 3rd in the table competition. Also to the amazement (and in some cases also dismay...) of the Mayhem group, Mindstorms Mayhem achieved 1st place Director's Award for the 3rd year in a row!
Other noteworthy news from the tournement:
Some friends of ours, Mach 6, placed 4th in the table competition and 2nd in Director's Award. Mach 6 is the FLL home of some of the FIRST Robotics Competition team members. Also, in the quarter finals there was an exciting Mayhem vs. Mayhem table round. One one side, More Mayhem, on the other, Mindstorms Mayhem. In the end, More Mayhem won the day. John L.'s youngest sister's team was given an award, but I can't remember what it was. John, I want you to talk to your family and get the low-down. then post it as a comment here.... Anyway, the last but not least big news event from the tournement is about one more award. The Young Adult Mentor award. To her absolute surprise and amazement, Brittany, my own sister, was honored with this award. The award recognizes the mentor whose influence is brought out to the judges from their conversations with the FLL students.
So there you have it. My crazy busy day's results. I am off to bed...
